About Penrite Oil

When Leslie Mecoles came up with the idea of producing specialist lubricants to suit different vehicles, he was onto a winner. By blending high-grade base oil with additives he created a unique range of products which catered for all specific vehicle needs.

Based in Victoria, 1979 saw Penrite begin to enjoy wider recognition in Australia. New owner and engineer John Dymond used his passion for oils and lubricants to expand the product range and most importantly set up the distribution network that got Penrite products out to motor enthusiasts and workshops around Australia.

The rest, as they say, is history. It wasn't long before our expertise in formulating oils for specific conditions and applications meant we established a leading position not just in Australia, but in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, the USA and Canada.

In 2005, we became the official Australia and New Zealand distributor for the premium European car care brand SONAX - a company which shares our passion for quality that's second to none. Penrite remains proudly Australian and family owned, with employees that live and breathe quality oils, greases and specialist products.
