Diesel HD is a high performance, heavy duty, low ash, OEM Warranty Approved, SAE 15W-40 premium mineral diesel engine oil designed for use in vehicles with and without Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF). It is made from a combination of hydrocracked base stocks and the latest OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) approved additive technology.
Diesel HD is Licensed by the API (American Petroleum Institute) to meet CJ-4/SM and CI-4 PLUS specifications ensuring quality and satisfaction.

Diesel HD is designed for use in post 2006, EPA 07 compliant American diesel engines, both naturally aspirated and turbocharged, that meet the newer Australian ADR emissions regulations. It may also be used in Euro IV and Euro V compliant engines. It is also suitable for heavy duty diesel engines fitted with DPFs and/or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems that require low ash oils.
Diesel HD exceeds the latest API CJ-4/SM and the European ACEA E9 specifications. API CJ-4 represents an advance in anti-wear technology, therefore older engines that require API CI-4 PLUS or API CH-4 oils (and earlier) can also benefit from this product. These include in 2003-6 low emission US engines with cooled EGR as well as in Caterpillar ACERT engines. Meets and exceeds the European ACEA E9/E7 specification as well as Japanese JASO DH-2.
Diesel HD is an ideal mixed fleet oil and can be used for normal drain intervals in European and Japanese diesel engines and carries many formal OEM approvals. It is ideal for use in high speed and some medium speed, diesel engines used in marine environments as well as for generator sets, agricultural and earthmoving equipment, and may also be used in petrol engines requiring an oil that meets API SL or SM.
Please note: Some trucks and heavy vehicles fitted with DPFs may need to use Enviro Plus Oils. Please check Penrite Lube Recommendation Guide for correct lubricant.
NOTE: when changing oil, Penrite recommend using Penrite Engine Flush, a fast acting, solvent free, engine cleaning formulation that removes engine deposits, sludge and contaminants with the oil service drain. It contains added zinc for engine wear protection and its fast acting formulation works in 10 minutes.
Important Maintenance Information
For vehicles fitted with a Diesel Particulate filter we recommend the use of Penrite ENVIRO+DPF CLEANER to clean & prevent DPF blockages, maximise catalyst life and improve engine efficiency, power & fuel economy.
