Erebus roll into Townsville with all guns blazing

Erebus Motorsport has unveiled a new look for Anton De Pasquale’s #99 Holden at Lavarack Barracks today.

De Pasquale will join teammate David Reynolds in Erebus Penrite Racing colours for this weekend’s Townsville 400.

“Anton is someone we have been keeping our eye on throughout the first half of this season, and he has really impressed,” Penrite Oil’s Corporate Partnership’s Manager, Jarrod Harding said.

“We’ve recognised the hard work and determination both he and the team have shown throughout 2018.

“As an Australian family owned and run company, we understand these traits, as they are something we have followed for over 90 years.”

The introduction of the almost identical red and yellow schemes also restated the team’s relationship with the Australian Army’s Royal Australian Artillery, with a display at the Chau Pha Lines.

Erebus and the RAA have been working together to support Legacy and other veteran services for the last three years, with the team also helping to identify the School of Artillery as the centre of excellence for technical and tactical artillery training in Australia.

“We have enjoyed a very rewarding relationship with the Royal Australian Artillery and it’s both an honour and a pleasure to recognise our relationship on a larger scale,” Erebus Motorsport CEO, Barry Ryan, said.

The RAA conducts individual Artillery and Mortar training to those seeking to serve in the Australian Army and is responsible for 165 different courses; including those for Artillery Observer and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle operators.

“There are similarities between the work of the team and the expectations we have of Australia’s capability to fight,” Ryan said.

“The Army’s defence values – courage, initiative, respect and teamwork – resonate with us and we have embraced these values in everything we do.”

“We are very proud to see our relationships with both Penrite and the Army continue to grow.”

Anton De Pasquale is looking forward to his own battle this weekend, with practice kicking off Friday morning in Townsville.
